ABU DHABI, 19th September, 2022 (WAM) -- The International Information System Security Certification Consortium, or (ISC), awarded Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, the Global Achievement Award 2022 in the "Government Professionalism Award" category for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He received the award in recognition of his contribution and role in strengthening the UAE's global stature as a leading country in the field of cybersecurity and improving its national cybersecurity capabilities.
The award, which is the leading award in the field of cybersecurity, crowns the UAE's efforts and its leading global position in cybersecurity, its success in building capabilities and encouraging international cooperation in improving national cyber defence and response mechanisms, through the launch of the "National Cyber Capabilities Building" initiative, which aims to realise the potential of the UAE, as well as the National Security Council's work on cyber resilience and confronting potential breaches and threats, in line with the latest international practices.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti said this global achievement is the outcome of the directives and vision of the UAE's leadership, in addition to the cooperation of all national teams, which enhanced the country's stature in the field of cybersecurity.
The UAE has a clear strategy aimed at creating a safe and flexible cybersecurity environment, which enables individuals to achieve their aspirations and companies to develop, therefore, improving the digital quality of life and creating a safe digital community in the country, as well as promoting a positive digital identity, he added.
