TEHRAN -- One of the Iranian nationals detained by the United States is "held under dire humanitarian conditions" as his access to emergency medical care is denied, a top Iranian official said on Thursday.
Kazem Gharibabadi, the Iranian Judiciary chief's deputy for international affairs and secretary of the country's High Council for Human Rights, made the remarks in a tweet.
Messrs Sarhangpour, the Iranian national, was also forced to pay the rent for the apartment in which he is placed under arrest, Gharibabadi said, calling the U.S. behavior "barbaric." (Iran-U.S.-Prisoner Treatment)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli imports of goods from China, excluding diamonds, jumped by 35 percent year on year in the first seven months of 2022, Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday.
Total Israeli imports from China amounted to 7.71 billion U.S. dollars in January-July 2022, compared to 5.71 billion dollars in the same period last year, according to the bureau's data. (Israel-China-Imports)

RAMALLAH -- One Palestinian was killed and 30 others were injured on Thursday during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian medics and eyewitnesses said.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that Wasim Khalifa, 18, was shot in the chest by Israeli soldiers and died right after he was brought to Nablus Hospital. (Palestine-Israel-Clashes-Death)
