TOKYO -- Japan will release hundreds of thousands of kiloliters of crude oil from its emergency reserves, industry minister Koichi Hagiuda said on Wednesday.
Hagiuda said the timing of the release is still "under consideration," adding that "we will be in step with the United States and other nations concerned." (Japan-Oil-Reserves)

LOS ANGELES -- A unique mission to test asteroid-deflecting technology was launched late Tuesday night from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, NASA announced.

ISLAMABAD -- At least six people were killed and three others injured after a car fell into a ravine in Pakistan's northwest Upper Kohistan district on Wednesday, local media reported.
