BEIRUT, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Around 200 students from over 20 Lebanese schools participated in a drawing competition organized by the Chinese embassy in Lebanon, to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Lebanon, a statement by the embassy reported on Monday.
Titled "Sino-Lebanese Friendship," the competition allows students to draw stories using various painting styles including oil, sketch, Chinese, and watercolor paintings, handicraft and more.
Painting works by students cover a series of topics including Sino-Lebanese cultural exchange, China's assistance to Lebanon and the role of Chinese peacekeeping forces in safeguarding peace in southern Lebanon.
The contest divided students into two groups comprised of primary school and secondary school students.
After evaluation by professional judges, Saad al-Zaatari from the sixth grade at Rafic Hariri High School won the first place in the group of primary school students, while Joud Wissam al-Gharbi from the seventh grade at Nazih Bizri High School won the first place in the group of secondary school students.
