BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

SEOUL -- South Korea reported 50 more cases of COVID-19 as of midnight Sunday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 23,661.
The daily caseload stayed below 100 for three straight days, but the double-digit increase continued due to cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province.

SHANGHAI -- Shanghai reported 10 imported COVID-19 cases and no domestically transmitted cases on Sunday, the municipal health commission said Monday.
Among the imported cases, eight departed from the Philippines, one from Niger, and one from Turkey. Nine of them are Chinese nationals and one is Jordanian.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally surpassed 6 million on Monday, reaching 6,074,702, as the death toll reached 95,542, said the latest data released by the health ministry.
As many as 82,170 new cases and 1,039 deaths were registered in the past 24 hours across the country.

SYDNEY -- The Australian state of Victoria has further eased COVID-19 restrictions, including scrapping a nightly curfew ahead of schedule, with the new rules applying from Monday.
After nearly two months, a nightly curfew was lifted in the state capital of Melbourne, outdoor social gatherings were increased to a maximum of five people and an additional 127,000 Victorians were allowed to return to work.

SAO PAULO -- Brazil on Sunday reported 335 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 141,741.
According to the health ministry, tests in the same period detected 14,318 new cases of infection, taking the total caseload to 4,732,309.

BOGOTA -- Colombian health authorities said Sunday that the number of novel coronavirus infections rose to 813,056 in the past 24 hours, after tests detected 7,018 new cases.
The death toll climbed to 25,488 after 192 more COVID-19 fatalities were reported in recent days.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, as the government warns people to be cautious when travels increase around the country during the school holiday.
There are 18 people isolated in the Auckland quarantine facility from the community, which includes nine people who have tested positive for COVID-19 and their household contacts, according to the Ministry of Health. ■
